HOW WE GOT HERE
More than four decades of figuring things out.
The Software Gallery — TSG, if you were wondering where all those initials came from — was founded in 1981 as a full-service information technology consulting practice serving businesses and organizations of all sizes.
In 2002, founder Malin Zergiebel created TSGWebPlus and put an increasing share of that experience to work on the web. The idea was deliberately simple: stay small enough to move quickly, stay close to the client, and build more than another pretty website.
Over the years the tools changed, the web changed, and the work expanded. Websites became more interactive. Databases moved behind the scenes. Custom applications, online systems, e-commerce, event tools and ongoing support became part of the job.
What did not change was the basic approach: understand what the client is trying to accomplish, then build something practical that helps them accomplish it.
THEN CAME THE LIZARDS
A festival promoter called for help.
On a cold winter day, a frustrated festival promoter called and asked a simple question: “Can ya help us?”
The Lizard signal went up. A few months later, a new festival website was live — and Thirsty Lizards had its origin story.
What began as a playful identity for festival and music work stuck. The name was quirky. The work behind it was not.
FROM THE WORKBENCH
We don’t have a wish list. We have a workbench.
We like practical solutions. Sometimes that means a new website. Sometimes it means fixing the one you already have. Sometimes it means building a tool that did not exist yesterday because nothing off the shelf quite fits.
We build things to be understood, maintained, improved and used. Good communication, sensible structure and long-term relationships matter just as much as the technology.

Malin Zergiebel is the founder and developer behind Thirsty Lizards. His background reaches back more than four decades in information technology, with experience that includes business systems, strategic planning, infrastructure, marketing, web development and custom applications.
Today, he works directly with clients from the first conversation through launch and beyond. That means the person learning how your business works is also the person thinking through the structure, solving the problems and building the site.
He likes clear navigation, maintainable code, straight answers, useful technology and relationships that last longer than the project that started them.
